We All Fall Down

Linda and Saul Stein still live in the Westchester home where they raised their two beautiful daughters. But when Saul unexpectedly retires, Linda summons the family to celebrate Passover for the first time in decades. Linda tends slightly toward the theatrical (okay, a lot), and their family has never been particularly religious (okay, not at all). So their comic attempts to bring the Seder to life go from riotous to heartwrenching by Lila Rose Kaplan.  Can this family come together, or will an age-old tradition tear them apart?

REVIEWS
  • "The Magician's Daughter is a masterful new work from a playwright with a unique voice, and its world premiere couldn't be timelier.....The Magician's Daughter is emotional, funny, and raw, one of the best new plays I've seen in years. I sincerely hope Kaplan is the template for all emerging playwrights, and that Geva Theatre stages more of her works in the years to come."  - Broadway World | Read Full Review
  • "The Magician's Daughter" is a classic coming-of-age story with a young heroine at the center,   Kaplan's taken an almost Shakespearean-meets-Kafka approach to the hero's journey.   At the heart of "The Magician's Daughter" is a metamorphosis: the arc of a parent-child relationship, and the shifting identities that come during that journey." - City Newspaper | Read Full Review
  • "The Magician’s Daughter is a highly theatrical experience....It's also a masterful reminder that a father and daughter can acknowledge their love for one another without ignoring or denying the past." - Democrat & Chronicle | Read Full Review
  • “Playwright Lila Rose Kaplan has created a fascinating work where the line between reality and illusion is fluid.” - Beyond the Nest Reviews
